Why does the water heater make strange noises?

Sediment build - up: Over time, sediment can accumulate at the bottom of the water heater tank, causing popping or rumbling noises. Flushing the tank regularly can help remove the sediment and reduce the noise.
Air in the pipes: Air trapped in the water pipes can also cause noise. Open the faucets to release the air and check if the noise disappears.
Faulty components: A malfunctioning heating element, fan, or other components may produce abnormal noises. Check these components and have them repaired or replaced if necessary.
